About Grazel

Hi, I’m Grazel, founder of Grayslate and I’m really glad found your way here.

If you’re here, something probably is not working the way you want it to — whether that’s between you and someone you love, or somewhere inside you. And you’re tired of carrying it alone. You don’t have to arrive with it figured out, or be the most composed version of yourself. That’s what I’m here for. Whatever you’re holding, you can set it down here, and we’ll walk through it together.

Before becoming a therapist, I built a career in law which is an experience that uniquely enriched my path to this work. My lived experiences as a woman of color have sharpened the decolonized and justice-oriented lens I bring to every client. Paired with my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), it shapes how I think about power, identity, and the systems my clients move through.  I finished a rigorous pre-licensed clinical training at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, working with high-acuity clients navigating houselessness, addiction, HIV prevention and diagnosis, severe mental illness from depression to schizophrenia and personality disorders, including intimate partner violence.

My practice is deeply rooted in LGBTQIA+-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming care. I’m an ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist and EFT Supervisor, and I train other therapists and speak on neurodiversity-affirming care and multiculturalism.

I work with both individuals and couples. In individual therapy, I work with anyone navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodiversity, grief, trauma, or a hard season of life — and, drawing on specialized training, with professional athletes, public figures, and others in the entertainment industry here in Los Angeles and across California. As an affirming EFT couples’ therapist, I work with diverse relationship structures including monogamous, consensually non-monogamous, mono-polyamorous, and kink/BDSM couples. Wherever you fall on that list, you’re welcome here.

For my performance-focused clients, I’m a candidate for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). Working across all neurotypes, I apply sport and performance psychology to help clients manage pressure and stay regulated under it, protect emotional well-being, and reach and sustain peak performance.

I’m a direct, grounded therapist. I draw on psychodynamic informed approaches alongside deep emotional attunement and attachment work that helps you understand the parts of yourself operating below the surface. You don’t need to come in already steady — that steadiness is something we build together, slowly and at your pace. What I bring is consistency, honesty, and a real commitment to the relationship you’re trying to heal, whether that’s with a partner or with yourself.

I also bring specialized expertise as a neurodiverse-affirming clinician, grief and loss therapist, addiction specialist, certified domestic violence therapist, and Brainspotting practitioner for trauma. Outside the therapy office, I lead the steering committee of the Los Angeles Emotionally Focused Therapy Center (EFTCLA) and serve on its EFT training team. I’m also a nominating committee member for the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles (GPALA).

As Grayslate’s founder, I’ve built a team of therapists with the same training if not more — it’s our standard. The EFT couples, individual and family work, the LGBTQIA+- and neurodiversity-affirming care, intersectional identities are honored: every clinician here is held to it. Every Grayslate therapist receives hours of training weekly in how to serve couples and individuals effectively, so the expertise you’d come to me for is the training you’ll find with any therapist here. I developed these frameworks across years of clinical practice — and wrote them into my book, Crossed Signals — but their real home is in how our whole team shows up in the room.

Upcoming

BOOK PUBLICATION ~ CROSSED SIGNALS ~ July 2026

Crossed Signals: Healing the ADHD and Attachment Cycle through Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples

Couples’ Retreat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico — a Hold Me Tight® intensive for couples ready to deepen their bond.

Note: I maintain a watlist — but please don’t let that turn you away. Every Grayslate therapist is trained in the same approach. Nicole Orsini can help match you with a clinician who’s a strong fit, often much sooner than my waitlist allows. If you have a direct referral and you’d specifically like to work with me, please contact Nicole and let her know who referred you to me and she’ll add you to it. Either way, reaching out is the right first step — we’ll take it from there.
