Our Approach

Grayslate


Grayslate provides affirmative specialized care to individuals (teens and adults) and couples identifying and belonging to all modes and types of relationships — including heterosexual, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse couples. We facilitate group psychotherapy in addiction, substance use, harm reduction, LGBTQIA+ groups, and more.

Our team of clinicians are all LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent affirming therapists, Emotionally-Focused Therapists, and Trauma Therapists (EMDR, TRM, and Brainspotting), Sex Therapists, Kink-aware and polyamorous therapists.

Each of our therapists set their own fees and offer limited sliding scale spots specifically reserved for marginalized populations and communities.

Jenna is the first person you’ll connect with when you reach out to Grayslate. With over twenty years in the behavioral health field, including supporting professionals who need both discretion and depth of care, she brings the kind of presence that makes you feel like you have all the time in the world, even when everything feels urgent.

Nicole is our outstanding operations manager, handling all back-end patient care and practice needs. She is a licensed clinical social worker and has been working in behavioral health since 2001 — bringing over two decades of experience ensuring every client connection is handled with clinical sensitivity and warmth from the first point of contact.

Grazel Garcia, LMFT

Grazel builds bridges where ADHD, attachment, and emotion meet—helping couples who feel chronically “crossed” finally feel understood. She is the founder of Grayslate and the author of Crossed Signals, a book that connects ADHD, attachment, and EFT.

An ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist and EFT Supervisor, Grazel provides trainings to other therapists and speaks on neurodiversity-affirming care and multiculturalism. She is also a candidate for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential, offered by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).

Grazel specializes in working with professional athletes, public figures, and entertainment industry professionals. She also works with diverse relationship structures—including monogamous, consensually non-monogamous, mono-polyamorous, and kink/BDSM couples—and her practice is LGBTQIA+-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, and kink/BDSM-aware.

She brings additional specialized expertise as a grief and loss therapist, addiction specialist, domestic-violence-certified therapist, and Brainspotting practitioner for trauma treatment. Outside the therapy office, Grazel chairs the steering committee of the Los Angeles Emotionally Focused Therapy Center (EFTCLA) and serves on its EFT training team. She is also a nominating committee member for the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles (GPALA).

Neuropsychological Testing Director & Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Tyler Howard, PsyD

Dr. Tyler Howard is a clinical psychologist and the neuropsychological testing director and one of the clinical supervisors at Grayslate. She provides LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse-affirmative psychotherapy to individuals and couples, specializing in gender and sexual identity, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.

With a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Howard integrates psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches with a focus on social healing. She also conducts neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.

Tiffany Cuevas is an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse-affirming Emotionally Focused therapist working with individuals and couples, offering a compassionate, attachment-focused approach. She specializes in relationship dynamics, premarital counseling, and emotional processing — helping clients navigate anxiety, grief, and unresolved trauma utilizing EMDR.

With a background in philosophy and theology alongside a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Tiffany incorporates a holistic perspective into her work. Supervised by Grazel Garcia, LMFT.

Arami James is an emotionally-focused therapist offering LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse-affirmative therapy for individuals, couples, and families. With a background in education and the arts, she integrates creativity, mindfulness, and somatic techniques into her practice.

Arami provides specialized reproductive support, guiding families through fertility, conception, and postpartum care. A first-generation Paraguayan-American, she brings a multicultural perspective — helping clients navigate identity, belonging, and life transitions. Supervised by Grazel Garcia, LMFT.

Samantha Lam is a neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist, Emotionally Focused Therapist for Individuals (EFIT) with advanced training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT). She is also a certified Brainspotting therapist trained in Havening — both for trauma care.

She approaches therapy through a non-pathologizing attachment lens, creating a space where clients can explore the origins of their patterns while discovering new possibilities for connection and growth.

Sarah is a neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist specializing in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Her approach is relational and systems-informed, tailoring evidence and attachment-based practices to each client’s unique needs.

As an Asian American woman and daughter of immigrants, Sarah brings lived understanding of navigating multiple cultural worlds. She helps individuals and couples strengthen communication, trust, and connection — supporting clients with anxiety, stress, trauma, life transitions, and relational growth. Pursuing dual MFT and PCC licensure under the supervision of Grazel Garcia, LMFT.
